OK, so by friend I don't mean that I'll answer the phone at 3 a.m. when you're looking for validation of a questionable life choice. And no, I (probably) won't pet sit your ocelot while you're off on a penny farthing bicycle tour for two months. Or tell your mom that of course you were studying at the library until the wee hours of the morning.

But good friends and good editors do have a lot in common. I'll recognize your strengths, provide honest and constructive feedback, nudge you if your foot is getting a little too close to your mouth, and help you show yourself to best advantage.

I'll be your literary wingwoman, if you will.

I’m a specialist fiction editor who helps authors deal with the stuff—both big and small—that gets in the way of a good story.

You landed here because you have a story to tell. How can I help?

Not sure what type of editing you need? I'm happy to provide you with a no-obligation consultation.

Ally’s editing work made a huge difference in the quality and professionalism of my work. Her efforts went beyond routine copy editing, working with me and the material to make sure her changes helped bring out the intended voice and context for a final product that went beyond the original.
— Jeff G.
Ally has been instrumental in helping to shape and craft my writing from a meager piece of fiction to a murder mystery of proper proportions. Her knowledge of the English language and its subtle nuances is outstanding. Her insightful comments regarding writing style, phrasing, point of view, and character development all point toward someone who loves the written word.
— Paulette M.

Ally is enthusiastic, insightful and has great attention to detail. Working with her is helpful but also fun—she’s like a cheerleader that inspires your best work!
— Rachel R.
